Windows XP and Windows 2000 Pro networking?
Here is my situation, I have in the Basement one computer running Windows XP Pro, wich is hooked dirrectly to a belkin Wireless-G router, although i dont use the wireless function except for my nintendo wii, wich is working fine (As both are etherenet wired, then i have One Computer running Windows 2000 Pro Upstairs, i am having some dificulitys sharing the printer and folders , i have the internet connection shared fine, but cant get them to the printer or, share files , i dident have this problem when both had XP Pro,everything was flawless, but as i should add, its a pentium2, so i put 2000 on the upstairs also , i would like to add that when i have both computers on, a message pops up saying something like, There is a duplicate name on the network, maybe I just need to change account names, not sure , but that your for your time and effort as it is greatly appreaciated, If you dont understand part of my setup , feel free to say so and I will add it in details , thank you again.
The Duplicate name isent the username, its the computer name , change that and then go into network setup , should work then
